Earlier drawings that mapped emotional, physical, and spiritual conditions during the Covid19 Pandemic have led to new conceptual iterations of my drawing practice. These latest drawings use the schematic language developed by the cosmic mapping experience. I have begun to think about the drawings as hieroglyphics, an unknown and intuitive “alphabet” of imagined spiritual spaces. It is a language we understand from deep within or without ourselves. It cannot be translated into the spoken word, for it transcends words to explore such concepts we can only understand via the subconscious condition. The drawings have become poems or dissertations. I am also thinking about these schematics as performance scores to be interpreted and performed as movement or music. As the body of work grows, I hope to collaborate with performance artists to play the scores.
